For parents who live alone

Keep your independence.
Let the family stop hovering.

One quick check-in a day. You tap "I'm OK," and everyone who worries about you knows you're fine, without a single phone call.

Living alone is fine. Going unnoticed isn't.

Plenty of people live alone and like it that way. The worry, yours and your family's, is about the one bad day: a fall, a sudden illness, a day when you can't get to the phone. When nobody expects to hear from you, hours or days can go by before anyone notices.

A daily check-in fixes the "nobody would notice" part. If you answer, nothing happens. If you don't, the people you picked get a calm message asking them to check on you.

Made to be easy

No app, no gadget

Check-ins arrive by email or text message. You don't need to install anything or wear anything.

One tap or one word

Tap the "I'm OK" button, or reply YES to the text. It takes about two seconds.

Your schedule

Pick the days and the time of day. Going away? Turn on vacation pause and nothing is sent.

Your people, your order

Choose up to five contacts and the order they're alerted in. They only hear from us if you miss a check-in.

What happens if you miss one

Nothing dramatic. If you don't answer within the grace period you set (anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours), we send another check-in. After the number of misses you chose, one, two, or three, we start alerting your contacts one at a time. Schedules are set so those alerts start the same day, before 8:00 PM.

If you were just out in the garden, answer the next check-in, and that's the end of it.

Is it right for you?

CheckUpOnMe is a safety net, not an emergency service. It won't call 911 or send an ambulance. If you need help the moment something happens, for example because of a high fall risk, a medical alert pendant is the better fit, and some people use both. Compare the two.

Try it with your family

We're invite-only while we test with real families. Request a code, and you get 180 days free. No credit card.

Important notice: CheckUpOnMe is not an emergency response service and is not a substitute for calling 911. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. CheckUpOnMe notifies your chosen contacts only; it does not dispatch emergency responders. See full Terms of Service →
