SMS Terms & Opt-In

CheckUpOnMe

CheckUpOnMe is a service of Earnest Software Engineering LLC. SMS text messages are sent by Earnest Software Engineering LLC, not on behalf of another company.

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

1. Program description

CheckUpOnMe is an automated wellness check-in service. If you opt in to SMS text messages, we send wellness check-in reminders to your mobile number asking if you are OK. If you do not respond after a configurable number of consecutive check-ins, we also send SMS alerts to emergency contacts who have separately consented to receive those messages.

2. How you opt in

Messaging consent is collected separately from our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Creating an account or accepting those documents is not consent to receive SMS.

  1. Create a CheckUpOnMe account, then open Profile & Notifications.
  2. Enter your mobile phone number.
  3. Check an unchecked-by-default box that explicitly agrees to SMS text messages (the same language shown below).
  4. Save. We then send a confirmation text. Reply STOP at any time to opt out.

This is the opt-in shown in Profile & Notifications when you add a mobile number:

Opt in to SMS from Earnest Software Engineering LLC

Earnest Software Engineering LLC will send CheckUpOnMe wellness check-in text messages to the number you provide.

Required for SMS check-ins. Use international format with country code (E.164).

See our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service.

3. Message types and frequency

  • Wellness check-in reminders to opted-in account holders: typically once or twice per day, based on the schedule you configure.
  • Service alerts such as enrollment confirmation and opt-out confirmation.
  • Emergency-contact alerts only if a user misses consecutive check-ins and that contact has consented to SMS. These are infrequent and event-based.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

  • Account holders can also disable SMS in Profile & Notifications or on the Schedule page.
  • Emergency contacts can opt out by replying STOP or using the preferences link in their verification email.

6. Emergency contacts

Account holders who add a contact for SMS alerts must confirm they already have that person's prior express consent. We do not treat adding a contact as that person's own opt-in. Contacts also receive a verification message and can agree to SMS text messages on their preferences page using this language:

See our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service.

7. Carrier and privacy notes

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We share your phone number and message content with our SMS providers solely to deliver the messages you opted into.

For how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy. For general use of the service, see our Terms of Service.
